The Syllabus We Wish We Had When We Started
Module-1
(video Editing Fundamentals)
This module introduces the core concepts of video editing,
explaining its purpose and the various types involved. It
familiarizes students with essential technical terms like video formats, codecs, frame rates, and resolutions. The
significance of aspect ratios is also discussed. The module
concludes with an overview of the complete editing workflow, laying the foundation for practical application.
Module-2
(Overview of Premiere Pro)
Students begin with the basics of Adobe Premiere Pro,
learning how to install and navigate the software. The
interface and workspaces are explored in detail, along with
the process of creating projects and timelines. The module
covers essential tools, effect controls, and monitors. Students are also introduced to animations and video effects to enhance their edits.
Module-3
(Advanced Editing Techniques)
This module dives into professional-level editing, including
the use of jump cuts, transitions, and dynamic camera
angles. Techniques like track matte, auto-reframe, and video stabilization are taught. Students learn how to create motion effects such as speed ramping. Time remapping and advanced visual effects are explored for cinematic editing.
Module-4
(color Correction & Grading)
Learners are introduced to both technical correction and
creative color grading. The module covers tools like RGB
curves, Lumetri panels, and hue/saturation adjustments. It
explains the use of LUTs and white balance for accurate color correction. Techniques for stylized grading, using color wheels and HSL secondary, are also included.
Module-5
(Audio Editing & Mixing)
This module focuses on improving and refining audio within video projects. Students learn how to clean up and enhance voiceovers, balance background music, and align audio with video. Adobe tools like Podcast Enhance are introduced. Practical applications include adding sound effects, transitions, and achieving studio-level audio quality.
Module-6
(Real-World Video Editing Projects)
Students apply their skills on real video editing projects,
including Tamil and English talking head videos, reels, and
YouTube-style content The module includes editing with
screen recordings, client-oriented voiceovers, and short films. Each project is designed to simulate actual industry work and build a strong portfolio.
Module-7
( Al in Video Editing)
This module explores how artificial intelligence is
transforming video editing. Students learn to use tools like
Runway ML, Adobe Podcast, HeyGen, ElevenLabs, and more.
Generative Al features in Photoshop are also covered. The
focus is on enhancing creativity and efficiency using
cutting-edge Al technologies.

(Freelancing & Earning as a Video Editor)
